SUMMER
2006
Studies have shown that
one of the
best things we can do to instill a love of reading in our children is
to read
to them daily. This is especially true for young children.
If you will
just take a few minutes each day this summer and read to your children
you will
be showing them that reading is fun, rewarding, and special. The
public
library has a wealth of picture books that are appropriate and
interesting.
Please consider taking your children there to help select books
for
sharing with you.
If your child is showing signs of wanting to read independently, the
following
list of books is a good starting point for finding appropriate reading
materials. Once again, the public library is a wonderful place to
find
the right reading materials for your children.
